The Tiger! TIger! Gallery & Exhibit has been established as a private initiative towards increasing the awareness of tigers and highlighting the plight of the remaining 500 Malayan Tigers in the country. It is the only privately operated interpretive center in the country.
ADMISSION IS FREE!
Meet Langkawi's First Tiger at the Oriental Village, Langkawi. Captive born in a Malaysian zoo, Zanah arrived on Langkawi mid-2009 before making her first public appearance on the first day of the Year of the Tiger (2010).
The Gallery also features a small private collection of artworks and rosewood antiques for viewing. However, the Gallery does not conduct sales in these items.
As little as a meter separates guests from a sleeping tiger, at times. The Exhibit allows guests to observe a captive-born tiger from behind a mirror-tinted glass wall that allows the tiger to behave more naturally.
More than 97% of the world's wild tiger population was decimated between the turns of the 20th and 21sth centuries, seeing three sub-species of tigers go extinct and critically endangering the rest. Find out more about the tigers here.
Do support our efforts as a priavte initiative as an interpretive center on tigers.
We are located at the Oriental Village, Langkawi. Use the Google Map here for directions to the Oriental Village.
