THE MALAYAN TIGER
15%-20% Decline in Tiger Numbers Since Last Year of the Tiger

The Tiger! Tiger! Gallery & Exhibit is our latest Animal Adventure featuring Zanah–our iconic Malayan Tigress. Opened Feburary 14, 2010, to commemorate the Year of the (Golden) Tiger, the center is open to all under a "FREE Admission" policy, subject to a dress code.

The Tiger! Tiger! Gallery & Exhibit also marks a paradigm shift on our part to use green energy and put a "recycle, reuse & reapply" policy to work. All basic electrical requirements is power by four solar panels while more than half the metal required has been recycled from discarded cargo containers.

In addition to viewing Zanah frolick in her playground and pool, guests may also view our small but growing wildlife art collection by local and fledgeling artists.

THE MALAYAN TIGER
15%-20% Decline in Tiger Numbers Since Last Year of the Tiger
Our first Animal Adventures began during the last Year of the Tiger in 1998. And during the last decade or so, Malaysia lost 15%-20% of its wild tiger population and, now, only 500 survive. The decline in numbers is attributable to displacement (deforestation), poaching and human-tiger conflicts, resulting in capture of wild tigers. There are fewer than 50 Malayan Tigers in captivity in Malaysian zoos, as many as 20 of these were displaced tigers.
